A graduate of Lincoln High School and Indiana University, Penny holds her Master’s degree in education. She has taught students at Ivy Tech, Indiana University East, Lincoln High School and Richmond High School. While at RCS, in addition to teaching, she was a Teacher Leader of Professional Development and active in the Richmond Education Association, serving as president for six years.
Penny enjoys working with youth theatre. She was involved in the drama departments at Lincoln and Richmond High Schools, and directed the first high school show in Richmond’s new Civic Hall. Penny volunteers with the Western Wayne Elementary Drama Club, doing choreography and helping in other areas as needed.
This lifelong resident of Western Wayne County has five children, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all living in Indiana.
Penny is a member of Cambridge City First United Methodist church where she serves as a Trustee and choir member.
“I am not one to expect someone else to ‘do it,’” Penny says. “Reid Foundation allows me to give back in a very small way to one of the most vital components of our community – a community that has been good to my family and me.”
